The Review: Here’s the thing: I’ve always loved Dr. Dennis Gross products. I considered the Alpha Beta peels
For that reason, I was psyched to see this very well-priced ($59.95
In all, I used the four products here for 10 days, until they were wreaking so much havoc on my skin that I gave up on them. To be fair, I didn’t use the eye gel long enough to see any results, and it didn’t irritate my skin, so let’s leave that out of the mix. But it’s bizarre that the peels are advertised for all skin types. My skin is officially combination, but more than that, it’s just blasé — it can handle anything. But it could not handle these peels and the foaming cleansing gel — they were so drying that before I left the sink I’d be looking for a moisturizer. And the problem was that this moisturizer was so light, and the cleanser/peels so drying, that I ended up digging through my bag to find a different, heavier moisturizer. I don’t think this set is in any way appropriate for people with all skin types — I have fairly oily skin, and it wiped it out — which is why I’m giving this set such a low grade. I mean, hey: Make super-drying products, but only advertise it to people with skin that can handle it. And I cannot imagine the type of skin that could handle those peels on a daily basis — they’re 10 times more drying than the regular-strength peels. It blows my mind that the brand recommends the cleanser for dry skin. Don’t do it, friends: I still regret it.
Buy It Again? Never. I gave everything but the eye gel away, to a friend with non-sensitive, super-oily skin.
